Global leaders at the 2015 Paris Climate Change Conference

In December 12, 2015, nearly 200 state parties signed and passed the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (hereinafter referred to as the "Paris Convention") and established a multilateral mechanism for the protection of the environment and cooperative win-win to enhance confidence in promoting global climate governance. The signing of the agreement will ensure that after 2020, countries will make "Intended Nationally Determined Contributions" and approach to participate in global actions to tackle climate change. Chinese President Xi Jinping made a speech at the Paris Climate Change Conference in 2015

In response to the convention, countries put forward their own energy-saving and emission reduction plans and objectives. In June 2015, the Chinese government promised to the United Nations that tis carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP will be decreased by 60% to 65% than in 2005, non-fossil energy will account for about 20% in the total primary energy consumption.

In response to these commitments, a variety of policies, such as "Energy Development Strategy Action Plan (2014-2020)", "New Energy Industry Promotion and Development Plan", "Notice on Energy Conservation Policy and Taxation Policy on Vehicles and Vessels Using New Energy", etc. They are all focused on optimization of the energy structure, vigorous development of non-fossil energy and efficient and clean use of fossil energy. We should increase the proportion of renewable energy, such as wind power, solar energy and geothermal energy, and clean energy, such as nuclear power, and build clean energy transmission channels based on EHV transmission to ensure and promote the production and timely use of clean energy.
